I believe if they could see what has happened to the party in the last few years they might understand. Some of them though would tar and feather me and disown me for good measure.
When we switched parties, we sashayed(well I sashayed, hubby doesn't go in for that) down to the courthouse and changed the D to an R on our registration cards. The lady that handed us our new cards, smiled, winked, and said welcome aboard. I'll never forget that.

I came very close this past Sunday when we were at the Union Street Fair in San Francisco and the Republicans had a booth for Registering people (yes, in SAN FRANCISCO) I was very tempted, but opted for a nice smile at them instead. Couldn't believe it, but we went by three different times, and no one was harassing them!! Maybe that in itself is a good sign. (PS glad to hear that your husband doesn't go in for sashaying....mine doesn't either, which is lucky since we're from San Francisco!)
