Well I was not around in 36 but in 85 I wrote a paper for college comparing the New Deal to Socialism! Like I stated before Democrats presume that all Republicans and basically all Americans are stupid and only they are smart! Nanny State Elitests! Look at the Demoocrat Senators, most of them have never even had a real job! They are idiots and no more represent me than a rock would!
Your Grandfather was a smart man!

no WE are not stupid... problem has been there have been enough stupid people in this country to vote for socialists in demonRAT clothing ever since FDR. That man knew who to play to. Hopefully that is changing BIG TIME and demonRATs can't handle it.

I wasn't around then, either, but I first learned about the New Deal from him.

If someone called me a "radical archconservative", or an "extreme libertarian" or "rightist" etc, I wouldn't be offended, I'd just calmly ask them what viewpoint they considered to be extreme, and would engage them on the issue.

The lib Dems in the Senate are trying to cling desperately to the false belief that they speak for "working families", let alone for people who actually create jobs or wealth. Anyone who ridicules their claim of legitimacy and reveals it to be the Potemkin village it is, will be attacked with all the shopworn weapons in the New Left arsenal.

People were fooled by these tactics for a while, and the lib dems keep going back to the wellspring...
