I gather that it is now "correct" to say that the ancient tomb-painters, who used different hues to depict Egyptians and Nubians, were "racists".
This whole "the ancient Egyptians were black" thing is pathetic. The Afrocentrists reject using modern day Egyptians as a guide, since they claim the original inhabitants who built the pyramids, etc, were displaced when the Arabs invaded after the rise of Islam.
In fact, the Ancient Egyptians were much like they are today. The posters who have pointed out the artistic depictions of the people, including statues, wall paintings, and the footstool already mentioned, are right on. And let us not forget the sarcophagus itself shows his face!

The black people of ancient Egypt came from Nubia, which is now Sudan. The Kingdom of Kush, as it was known, arose form the same area and actually took over Egypt at one point, around 750 BC. There was a close relationship between Kush and Egypt, including pyramid building in Nubia!

However, Tut lived a thousand years before!
