Lets see, his bones were all out of joint (Psa 22:14) his hands and feet had nails through them, his bones looked and stared at him (Psa 22:17), his visage was marred more than any man ever and he didn't even look like a man (Isaiah 52:14 and 53:2), he had all the sin and sickness of the entire human race on him and he died only when prophesy was fulfilled. He did not die, he gave up the ghost.

Actually, a pulmonary embolus can be quite painful. As a matter of fact, it is often mistaken from a heart attack. Bleeding to death is, on the other hand, presumably painless.

Actually, it is a very painful way to die. Feels like a heart attack. David Bloom cried out in pain before he died of the same condition in Iraq, according to the soldiers with him.
