I apologize for bringing up race, but from what the press has reported, one of the two men in custody has approached and made suggestive comments to blonde women before. I'm trying to work backward from Natalee's disappearance, why would she willingly go off with three guys at night? At the time I posted, I didn't know she'd made the acquaintance of one of them earlier in the trip. Whatever, the premise of that recent Sandra Bullock movie came to mind. The two young men in the movie seemed to be nice guys, but from the trailer shown on tv, were not.
I wouldn't be surprised. Many local guys on these islands tend to try to seduce tourist women. I'm sure this guy has hit on white women, black women, asian women and what have you.

Three possibilities: Naivete, she was interested in one of these guys or she was interested in having sex with all three of them. I think option 2 plus a little of option 1 is the likely reason.
earlier in the thread, people had posted information from other forums where people that were on that trip or close to people who were on that trip posted information and in fact identified the one Dutch male as a Joran Van Der Sloot and that in fact, he and his friends have been hanging around with the group of girls, Natalee and her friends for most of the week so it may have been that Natalee didn't view these guys as strangers by that night....that doesn't preclude them from being pigs or rapists either though, but might explain her behaviour.....
it also seems from a few googles on my part that Joran is the son of a judge, and possibly his mother is a teacher, he is 18 years old and just graduated from high school himself and quite the young man about Aruba....I suspect he was viewed by Natalee and friends as quite a catch.....the other two guys I don't know......but I'm merely speculating wildy from a few tidbits of uncorroborated information as many of us are.......
in fact for all we know, maybe the fact the mother was a teacher, maybe she knew some of the adults on the trip and this kid was introduced to the girls.......more wild speculation, Jackie Collins, eat your heart out......
