I am fascinated by car chases, and appreciate Fox running them. I could be ever-so-sophisticated and pretend disdain, but have to be honest.
Why? Because they are a window into human behavior in a complicated culture. To what lengths will darwin candidates go? How are the police dealing with these fools. Why are they most always in SoCal?
For people who are driving in the area where these are happening, coverage is helpful, I would think. These also make me feel happy for our chopice to live in rural western NY, and not one of these magalopolises....
I don't think there are that many in SoCal compared to the rest of the country. We just have hundreds of helicopters in the air all day long.
I love to watch 'em too...but I love to read the Nat'l Enquirer!

A bunch of us at work were watching the chase on Fox and a guy turns andf says to me "Why do these chases always happen in California?".
I didn't know what to say!
