Watch what you ask for. They are already trying to install remote ingnition cut off switches in new vehicles. No easy answers to pursuits involving dangerous people.You're right. I'm just talking about the subject of freeway chases, and how they can stop it with the weapons they have on hand. Maybe this is why people are raiding junkyards for "fixable antiques".

What law enforcement is really afraid of is innocent bystanders getting hurt/killed. Liability. Throwing a vehicle out of control in a Pit maneuver has the real potential of harming others. The liability is extensive. That's why many pursuits go on for a long time. When a suspect hurts someone in a pursuit, the long arm of the law falls on him. But if law enforcement causes it, by intervening, there can be hell to pay. Even spike stripes have caused suspect vehicles to fly out of control and injure and kill others.
