Given that they mention Oprah (and other left-wing maggots) as competing with George Washington (and other TRULY GREAT Americans who have actually put their livelihoods and very LIVES on the line for their country) for the "Greatest American", and the fact that Lauer is hosting...
this wil be nothing more than a sham-of-a-left-wing-self-love-fest.

I watched a little bit of this last night, what a joke. Bret Favre, John Edwards, and a host of others that are absolutely laughable....gives you an idea of how stupid many people are.

Bleah none of my favorites were on there. So I voted for Thomas Jefferson. Even though John Adams was the one that prodded him into writing the Declaration.

Agreed.
Without Washington, there would be no U.S.
Imagine sending the DIRTXPOTUS Klinton back in time and putting him in Washington's place.
The Republic wouldn't have lasted five minutes.

You have to be kidding. They really included those in a list of America's greatest?

"Matt Lauer was the host, need I say more?"
With Lauer hosting this - What do you want a bet Hillary will top Reagan and George W. Bush.
My vote:
Political leaders: George Washington with Ronald Reagan a close second.
Non-politics: Bob Hope
To: DocH
The choices listed on the insipid radio ad for the thing were: George Washington, Martin Luther King, Jr., Muhammad Ali, and Oprah.

I think the greatest American's are the one's that are nameless and have died wearing the uniform of our country. It's a cheesy opinion to hold but I can think of no greater love of country than to die for it.
To: soundandvision
I kept hoping that one of the categories would be our Vets or the American Soldier.
