I guess Kerry was AWOL from the Senate back then, too.
John Kerry is making a fool of himself yet again.
Yup and Conyers will present it to the House on Monday. Of couse there is the Stupid Conyers Letter which will be going to Bush. I wish someone would give Conyers and Kerry some REAL WORK to do. These people need to get some REAL WORK done in Congress.
When will he present his SF180? It's looking more and more like the Navy lawyer was right. Kerry received an other than honorable discharge from the Navy, and later was likely given amnesty by jimmy carter.
Your right about that one. I just wish some of our spineless senators would confront these idiots for the fools they are. Can you imagine a conservative senator ripping these libs with the rhetoric that they use on us??
Does Kerry think he becomes president if President Bush is impeached?
Oh goody....we do have a plan....
Besides being a sore loser, Comrade Kerry wants to run again for President IMHO. So he is trying to court the loony Left by pushing the memo in Congress. A footnote to my comment is that Comrade Kerry and the Left does want to impeach President Bush with a religious zeal. They would sacrifice this country to accomplish this. An example would be the story about the Koran being Desecrated by American soldiers. I pray for the day when President Bush brings back the Sedition act of 1918.
The Espionage Act of 1917 was amended by Congress the following year to not only target those who interfered with the draft, but also those individuals who publicly criticized the government including negative comments about the flag, military or Constitution.
The revised law provided in part:
SECTION 3. Whoever, when the United States is at war, shall willfully make or convey false reports or false statements with intent to interfere with the operation or success of the military or naval forces of the United States, or to promote the success of its enemies, or shall willfully make or convey false reports, or false statements, ...or incite insubordination, disloyalty, mutiny, or refusal of duty, in the military or naval forces of the United States, or shall willfully obstruct ...the recruiting or enlistment service of the United States, or ...shall willfully utter, print, write, or publish any disloyal, profane, scurrilous, or abusive language about the form of government of the United States, or the Constitution of the United States, or the military or naval forces of the United States ...or shall willfully display the flag of any foreign enemy, or shall willfully ...urge, incite, or advocate any curtailment of production ...or advocate, teach, defend, or suggest the doing of any of the acts or things in this section enumerated and whoever shall by word or act support or favor the cause of any country with which the United States is at war or by word or act oppose the cause of the United States therein, shall be punished by a fine of not more than $10,000 or imprisonment for not more than 20 years, or both....
United States, Statutes at Large, Washington, D.C., 1918, Vol. XL, p. 553 and following.
More than 2,000 prosecutions occurred under the original and amended Espionage Act, the most famous of which was that of Socialist spokesman and draft opponent, Eugene V. Debs, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Both the Espionage Act and the Sedition Act were repealed in 1921.
Gee John "If ya feel froggy then jump"!
That's wrong... but funny as h#ll.
What are they talking about? He hasn't shut up. Where has this "journalist" been?
He is running. Better yet, his arrogance knows no boundaries. A Whashington Whispers piece (I think that is where it was) quoted him as telling supporters or someone essentially that "the nomination is mine" or somesuch. And yes, this canard is playing to the loonies. It makes sense: they are the most active and will vote in the primaries. If the grifting Hillary makes a go of it, the Kept Ketchup Boy will not go quietly into the night...
Even pre-9-11, Saddam had indicated his willingness to retaliate for his Gulf War humiliation in the attempted assasination of a former Pres. Saddam had also come to be seen as the victor in that war by the enemies of America, simply by surviving to thumb his nose at the Clinton administration.
I might add that credible evidence exists that ties Iraq to both the first WTC bombing and OKC.
This story will carry zero weight with the American people as most intinctively surmise that the lesson of 9-11 is that those WHO HAD MOTIVE to strike at us would have no need of WMD or missile delivery systems, in order to do us grave harm, IMHO.
The best response President Bush could give to Mr. Kerry would be to:
(1)Reverse the executive orders issued by Jimmy Carter that resulted in a Navy board giving Kerry the honorable discharge he hadn't earned on his own.
(2)By executive order, reverse the decision of that board.
(3)Demand that in lieu of his lack of an honorable discharge from the military, that he be removed from the Senate intelligence committee.
(4)Ask congress for the authority to authorize the release of the full, complete and unaltered military file for Mr. Kerry.
(5)Have Rummy convene a military tribunal to try Mr. Kerry for falsifying his after-action reports, which became the bais for many of his medals and for treason (for which there is no statute of limiitations).
