Turning 97 seems to be bad for some mens health doesn't it?

I wonder how much longer he would have lived if he had been at a government-approved weight? Such a tragedy to have a young life cut so short.

I own this disc, and the Klemperer-conducted performances of these symphonies are among the best out there, even if the recording of the 5th is in mono.

I own the LP. My late father loved classical music and owned several records that featured Otto Klemperer. I keep a turntable around because of Dad's music collection.

• the restaurant Hogan has selected to host his Christmas dinner has a strict "No Negroes" policy
• unspeakable experiments conducted on Jewish P.O.W.s, that was only hinted at in the original series
• Kinch feigns thankfulness while secretly harboring a deep resentment for his comrades and country

Klemperer's family escaped in the 30's - from what I was reading earlier, they were never held in a concentration camp. Askin on the other hand was interred in a detention camp, and managed to leave for the US in 1940.
