You can use yahoo,etc.etc.etc. but I think if a person had to have an email like earthlink or some sort it would be different.

Yeah, but you would lose legitimate participants. I never register anywhere online unless I can do so via anonymous webmail. Of course, one might dispute my legitimacy. =)

Wouldn't the user of Yahoo or whatever other mail service have to give their email address to join?

For example, I have a free Yahoo account, but I had to join with my regular email user name.
