The major financial areas in Philly are confined to a fairly small area in Center City. Market Street runs west-east and Broad runs North-South. Where they intersect is City Hall.
The areas north of Market and West of Broad comprise much of the Financial District. A large mall complex runs on Market Street- east of city hall- around Market and 10th. The major banks and such are in the Market street area west of city Hall, though Wachovia Bank (main office) is on Broad street south of city Hall.
There have been documented threats made against some of the financial area (Liberty Plaza section)- but mostly threats toward areas of the Old City- Liberty Bell, etc. These are East of City Hall. These are the "symbolic" areas...
