A bunch of cars went around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around a big oval track, and one of them finished first and was declared the winner.

Actually it went more like this...

A bunch of cars went around and around and around and around and crashed and then went around and around and pitted and then went around and around and around and around and crashed and then went around and around and around and around and around and around and pitted and then went back around and around and around and around and crashed a little more. Eventually, one of them finished first and was declared the winner.

And this is how my wife sees football...

A bunch of guys line up on a field and smash into each other and then they get back up and smash into each other again. Then they get back up and line up to smash into each other again only this time, one of the guys runs backwards and throws the ball just before getting smashed into the ground to another guy who gets smashed into the ground as soon as he catches it. Then everybody gets back up so they can line up and smash into each other again.

I ask because their running spots for each team showing their best moments from 2004. For the Steelers they have their wins over the Pats and Eagles in back to back games. Do you consider that their best moment or was it beating the Jets in the divisional playoff game?

it was deffinitley beating the Pats and Eagles in back-to-back games. It was then I knew they were for real. They were pretty bad in the Jets game, a gift from the PK saved them. it was stupid how they let Santana Moss return a lame punt for a TD

Bad special teams will kill you in a playoff game.

Are the Vikes going to get a new stadium in the near future?

They are third in line for a stadium. For some reason the University of Minnesota is first, and the Twins, who should be first in line, are second.

The University should never have left campus to play their games, so for them to be first is non-sensical.

re #38: LOL!

Still, it puts a crimp in the spirit to read about a Fall sport when I've hardly contemplated Summer. Spring has been slow to spring in my neck of the woods. Wait till late August, and then football will be a more welcome thought.

Not sure what the other fella wrote, but judging by the reaction this thread must have stuned a raw beeber.

It's nice to see baseball teams playing in ballparks and football teams playing in football stadiums.

So UM doesn't want to share a field with the Vikes anymore?

They want to go back to campus as I understand it. No one is happy with the Metrodome but I've always felt that if you ripped off the roof and put grass into it, it would make a fine outdoor football stadium. Put in the corporate stuff the team says it needs and save $400 million.

And as a baseball stadium the Metrodome is a long-standing joke.

My father always points out that the Vikings went to four Super Bowls when they played outside and none since they moved inside.

I think the New York Giants could conceivably be the team to play the Patriots in this year's Super Bowl. Eli Manning should hit his full stride this coming season and the rest of the team was looking pretty good last season. I hope that the Indianapolis Colts make the playoffs too. It would be fun to see Belichick and Brady make mincemeat out of both Mannings this coming year in the playoffs.

It will be interesting to see what happens in Dallas with Drew Bledsoe. I see a lot of sacks coming.
