There's big trouble now, only this will speed it up. It has to comes to a head or it will fester like it is now. The muslims are working on getting rid of our first amendment with the help of so called American senators.
:-)
I don't think the focus is on recovering the Ark as a faith-object but the repercussions that would have upon Jerusalem, Israel, and the entire world. If the Jews found the most sacred object of their religion, it would be earth-shattering. How would you house it and accomodate visitors to it? Would you want the Moslems to continue to occupy the Temple Mount where the Ark should be housed?
Very good post which I appreciated. You had to foresee the blowback from the cynics and unbelievers, however. Don't let it bother you.
In Catholic, Orthodox and (I believe) Lutharan tradition, the "ark of His covenant" is a direct referrence to Mary.
See #25. The ancient myth needs some adjustment, but a probable case can be built that the myth is based on a simplification of the historical time line.
Interesting. I think the bible is referring directly to the ark of the covenant when it says the ark of the covenent. :-)
The argument you set out is not the best analysis.
Hancock's book sets out a very credible path by which the Ark moved from the Temple to Ethopia. There is considerable correspondence from the priests at the temple built at Elephantine Island to the captives in Babylon which has recently be discovered and translated. There is also surviving evidence in Ethopia on the islands in Lake Tana.
The copies do not purport to be copies of the Ark itself but rather of the tablets on which the law is engraved.
His covenant in the NT is Christ; therefore, the ark is Mary.
This is the Old Testament Ark. Geeesh!
Paging Mr. Rivera. Mr. Geraldo Rivera. Please pick up the white courtesy phone. Someone is stealing your schtick.
And why is that?
The bible says that Christ is the mediator of the new covenant, not the new covenant itself...an important distinction:
Heb 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
"there is more evidence Sheba was on the Arabian Peninsula."
Sheba is located in what is now known as Yemen near the town of Marib which is about 50 miles from the border with Saudi Arabia.
Remnants of the temple of Sheba are still standing on the road which leads from Marib to the oil refinery.
At one point WorldNet Daily was a fairly respectable outlet of conservative articles. Over time it has morphed into a Christian Right version of the Weekly World News. All it needs is Batboy!
This is for the Jew, God still has a few promises to fulfill, and He will.
So you're saying the actual ark is in Heaven?
Good luck to the good Doctor with his search.
