May 28, 2005 McCain Urging Accord on Bolton and Secret Documents By DOUGLAS JEHL and CARL HULSE WASHINGTON, May 27 - One of John R. Bolton's leading Republican backers, Senator John McCain of Arizona, signaled his support on Friday for a compromise in which the White House might allow Senate leaders access to highly classified documents in return for a final vote early next month on Mr. Bolton's nomination as United Nations ambassador. The conciliatory signal from Mr. McCain came as Senate leaders traded blame over who was responsible for the miscalculation that led to Mr. Bolton's nomination being blocked Thursday. But the White House showed

McCain strikes again! He's running the Senate! He's caving to Democrat obstructionism by saying the White House should hand over clasified documents to appease the un-appeaseable! Ahhhhhhhh!!!

McCain is a Democrat, so caving really isnt the term. It's more like cheerleading....

"Toxic Avenger" McCain is a disgrace to the Republican Party and should be given his walking papers.

I really do not understand all the fretting about Bolton. Seems to me that the only qualification a conservative would care about in our UN Ambassador is that he wants us to withdraw as soon as possible and get their sorry headquarters out of our country. Short of that, they could nominate Snow White for all I care. US out of the UN now. The only conservative position.

McCain should be rebuffed. Then the Republican party should ask him to resign the party.

I'm sure McCain's "solution" is along the lines of "Give the Dems everything and anything they want, and Bolton still doesn't get a vote."

Reprinted in the Wash Times this morning was the voting recod for the last dozen or so UN ambassadors, going back to the Ford Administration. In most cases it was simply a voice vote. Where a formal rool-call-vote was taken, the results were in the 95 - 5 category. So what is the problem with John Bolton other than Democratic Party opposition to the President's foreign policy? The Dems are very clearly stating that they are the party of the UN, of being friends of everyone, and putting 'international concerns' and the 'world community' ahead of the interest and security of the United States of America. I hope people other than just Freepers are paying attention and will respond accordingly in 2006 and beyond.

It looks like yor prediction on Bush giving the Senate Raw NSA intercepts is about to come to pass.
To: Lazamataz
Hey, why don't "we" ask him to resign from the Republican Party?

I'm beginning to wonder if there's something else at work here now. If someone just doesn't want access to these docs, regardless of what Bolton has to do with them.
