I have O-Negative blood, but the Red Cross won't even talk to me anymore. First I spent a year in England, which is considered a high risk country, then I was sick and had to have nasty drugs that linger in the body for life, so I can never donate blood again.

Me too. I gave as much as I could until they started the 'time in UK' qualifier. Now I can't give anymore.
Do you know if other donor centers have the same restriction?

yeah being that I am only 4 months removed from being in Iraq right now, I can't donate until next February.

But then after that, every 6 weeks or whatever the time limit is, I will be donating. Because Red Cross or not, blood is needed....
