After what DeWine did with McCAin there is no way he can carry Southern Ohio. He is a fool. In 1998 Voinovich tried to run his RINO Lt. Governor for congress from my district. She was not pro life. Two years earlier Democrat Ted Strictland barely won the district over a pro life Conservative. But when the Marietta RINO ran two years later, Strictland won in a landslide. The religious voters refused to vote for a liberal Republican. I have talked to several religious leaders in the last few days. After what DeWine did with McCain on the Judges, Mike can't carry Southern or Northwestern Ohio in the General election. With out those parts of the state a Republican is toast. Put a fork in Dewine he is done.
Our choice for Senator in 2006 is either Kasich or Liberal Democrat Ted Strictland.
OK..thanks for the hard data. I respect your nose-to-the ground onsite perspectives. My concern was not to save DeWine's ass, but rather that a primary fight could cost Blackwell the statehouse. And yes, the senators who hurt the party need to be taken to the woodshed, but more important, you have to get the WH and the national leaders to back the real conservative in the race..not automatically favor the incumbent...That's how we got Arlen again..and boy,are we paying for it now..
The Democrats won't run a first tier candidate against him (do they even have one in Ohio?), so all your threats will be for naught. He will win unopposed in the primary, just as McCain has.
