So it's not in the Bible. That's all I wanted to know

Are you a Bible fundamentalist, or some other variety of simpleton?

How long can she keep saying that Democrats are great and Capitalism is bad before she gets pulled? I've seen people banned for far less.

You have indoor plumbing?

You obviously have access to the internet.

You indicate you have had access to medications that were not available fifty years ago.

I assume you don't weigh less than your recommend weight, and are not starving.

You have a refrigerator?

When I'm feeling sorry for myself, the Holy Spirit sometimes chides me that I am really very lucky to have creature comforts that many generations and kings never dreamed of.

"This is a day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it."

One of the steps of recovery from depression is to stop turning your anger in on yourself and turn it outward.

I am glad you have taken that step, but I hope you continue to progress toward a belief that you can take some control of your life, that you are not just the a pawn of fate.

A good way is to turn your thoughts outward to do something for others.

You aren't going to affect change at Wal-Mart by grousing about it on FreeRepublic. If you feel so strongly about worker's rights, maybe you should volunteer for a Union to help them promote their cause.

Or there are many other causes that could make you feel you are doing something worth while.

Me, I do care packages for the troops. I find it very rewarding.

Obviously, the Federal programs need to be re-worked. It isn't Wal-Mart's fault that US government is filled with idiotic socialists.

WHAT?! I've never heard of this story.

Personally, I went to the new Super-Wal-Mart that's 24 hours. I asked a stocker for Chocolate Eclairs made by Good Humor. He looked all over and when he failed to find it, the conversation went as such:

Stocker - "Well, where have you seen 'em last?"

Flagg - "Cub Foods, but they closed all their stores last year. Other than that, the occasional ice cream truck. WAIT! I do remember Super Target carrying them."

Stocker - "OK, Here's what ya do. Go get 'em at Super Target, eat 'em up, and bring us the package. We'll start carrying them, AND, we'll carry them cheaper."

THAT'S how you compete in business!

"They don't sound like socialists over there to me, but they do sound like Democrats. They care about America and American jobs."

Sounds like a ZOT to me

Me, too. This article was posted from a socialist union site by a "hit and run" poster, I've seen the words "living wage" "rich get richer while the poor gets poorer" and even a call to join Bubba's "Third Way" group,

yet,

I look around, and not a kitty pic in sight.

What's the deal?

Please understand where these attacks are coming from. Her name is Mrs. HEINZ-KERRY. And .. she is funding ultra left-wing activist groups, through her Tides Foundation, who are attacking Wal-Mart.

My Mother-In-Law HATES Wal-mart; and she's a flaming leftist (I still love her dearly).
I make it a point that when I hear her rant about what she dislikes about certain things, I'll investigate them to learn that they're almost verbatim talking points from the Moveon crowd.

To quote Rush: "You just know that if the left hates something, that something must be good for America."

Yes, I have all that. So what? They are only things. I don't want to talk to any more people on this thread. I wasn't angry and was happy with my new camera and one that I bought my daughter.

I should have stayed off this thread. Somebody actually threatened that they would zot me. I stand up for the handicapped like JimRob, I stand up for murdered babies, I stand up for slaughtered baby harp seals, I stand up for reasonable measures environmentally not to turn the whole country into a parking lot, I stand up for family values, I stand up for Christian morality, and I stood up for a handicapped woman they murdered in Flordia whose name I'd better not bring to this thread.

I just don't stand up for Wal Mart and people who screw around with the American working poor who are trying to do the best they can with what they have to work with and aren't making it.

And I don't contribute as much as some of you do, but I pay what I can. So I'm not exactly a freeloader here.

So if the government decides that everyone should have a Lexus and decides to give one to everyone who doesn't have one, Walmart should immediately buy every employee a Lexus? Otherwise, the price of the Lexus comes from 'our taxes'.

What about those 'poor unfortunate Mom and Pop stores' that can't afford to buy their employees a Lexus. Should Walmart buy Mom and Pops employees a Lexus too?

How can you call yourself a conservative and not believe in a free market in which an employer and an employee negotiate a contract for salary and benefits without the government or anyone else sticking their nose in it?

"Believe"? Is the free market ideology a religion? You bet it is, a false one. The "free market" society never existed and never will.

Why? Because the market is an aspect of the economy and economy is an aspect of social life. Market is a product and a tool created by the society. If deregulated it becomes a destroyer.

To me, this is so at the core of conservatism that I don't understand how you can believe otherwise and be anything other than a liberal.

Freemarket or laissez fair ideology is ANTI-conservative. It is not coincidence that it is being called liberalism outside of USA.

Joy.

You need joy.

Try not to get caught up in the arguing that goes on here, and enjoy your life.

All my life I just laid down and took it. A few good things came my way, but never any joy.

There is joy in standing up for the little people who cannot stand up for themselves.

Joy isn't something you pick off a tree like an apple. It is a gift.

The labor market is no different than any other market. In this case, the seller is the employee, offering his labor, experience, talent, etc. for sale. The employer is the customer buying that labor. Like any other sale, both parties are free to negotiate and accept or reject the deal. If the employer doesn't want to pay a particular price for a certain kind of labor, he doesn't have to. If the employee doesn't want to work for a particular wage, he doesn't have to.

You make serious mistake - the labor is not a mere commodity - it the activity of the living human being, his life and soul is involved.

You sin against the dignity of man by treating him like a thing. And you sin against God in whose image men are created. Freemarketeers are at heart the atheists, and when they claim to be believers they are the hypocrites as well.

Or haven't you read Locke, Smith, Hayek, Mises, AYN RAND, etc.

Was Ayn Rand pro-life or pro-choice? How many children did she have?
