All the Wal Mart whiners and bashers need to LEARN a little about the company before condemning it.

That, my FRiend, is about all that needs to be said.

The Walmart bashers have overtaken the IBM and Microsoft whiners and bashers.

A. Pole is the queen of ad hominen attacks.

And sorry, this is a debate class...we are debating. And you can't do it well. Your arguments are nothing but emotional swill that disregards all reality in favor of your perceived notions, class rhetoric and simple hatred for the fact you yourself are not making tons of money because you think you, for some reason, are worth more than someone is willing to pay. And since you can't improve your life on your own you'll spend the rest of it tearing others down to make yourself feel better.

You remind me of Russians wishing the Communist party was back in power.

No dammit! Ignorance should be coddled! Mediocrity rewarded!
No one should ever ever be uncomfortable for one minute!

So instead we will have more dysfunctional people like the guy here who stalked his girlfriend who had his kid from her job at the mall, rammed her car, the police saw it, chased him, he wrecked his car, took off, police went after him, he knocked the policeman unconscious, commandeered the squad car, got his gun, found himself cornered and shot himself.

Why is this relevant? Poor-paying jobs and related societal pressures caused by a breakdown in morality and exploitative business practices are putting people over the edge. Don't forget these are not nine to five people who can go home and relax. They have to work all kinds of crazy hours, and it throws their biological clocks off.

I think that's a huge source of this wackiness in society. As the Bible says, we "reap what we sow."

Why can't you answer this simple question Aliska?:

Why is a $100 minimum wage not logical?
Answer: Because everybody who makes less then $100 would simply become unemployed and many of the businesses that use such employees would shut down.

Now stay with me here...
Why is a $17 minimum wage not logical?
Answer: (fill in this space)

I know... same here! It's like when you've totally outmatched someone in chess and you get to keep chasing his King around with your Rooks, Bishops, and Queen.

Lemme guess, you read "The Communist Manifesto".

Wrong. That would be a good one to experiment with flushing down my toilet. Enough flushes and it would start disintegrating and might stop up the thing and I'd have to call Roto Rooter. They probably make a living wage. I ain't that stupid. I have to make use of their services from time to time, but I do everything in my power to keep costs down, unlike some companies who like to send their best employees on free cruises and write it off as a business expense. I can't write off Roto Rooter.

You're an anti-business, anti-capitalist, Bolshevik.

Wrong. I love mom 'n pop capitalism which has all but disappeared, a few big companies like Alcoa who are truly a benefit to the community even though they are unionized, and entrepreneurialships who don't have a whole fleet of company cars. That's my kind of capitalism. And I have questions about your conservatism.

Good. Only a good Bolshevik or Nazi goose steps to the party line. I think for myself and have eyes to see what is happening to ordinary people all around me from all walks of life.

And I have questions about your character. You sound like a p***k.

Oh come on Betaille, have some compassion. It's "tired". It's so deflating when you argue socialism, communism and marxism that we must stop and let it be. Because "we just don't understand" how "hard it is for us poor, hard working people".

Why they don't cancel their $25 a month internet connection, sell their computers and buy food escapes me!

You keep talking trash to everybody but you still haven't answered this simple question:

Answer: Because everybody who makes less then $100 would simply become unemployed and many of the businesses that use such employees would shut down.

"we just don't understand" how "hard it is for us poor, hard working people".

I don't think they are poor, hard working people. I think theyre brainwashed university leftists who don't understand that everything mommy and daddy bought for them had to come from somewhere.

Don't get me started on the poor pay of our lawn care folks.

There have been other threads about evil corporations who lay off unneeded workers. My take has been that, if the corporations are obligated to retain unneeded employees, then every us is likewise morally obligated to hire at least one unneeded employee each.

"living wage" is a cooked up expresison---cooked up by the left wing and swallowed by you apparently. It makes absolutely no sense in economic terms.
