How is this for a nightmare scenario? Frist retires in 2006 and the Republicans vote in John McCain as the new Senate Majority Leader. After introducing legislation abolishing what remains of the 1st Amendment, Sen. McCain then turns to his pet project of implementing the Kyoto Accords.....

They have one, His name is John McCain and he abdicated his leadership to Harry Reid.

What would somebody else do differently?

You think the 42 voters would behave differently with a different Republican Majority Leader? Dole? Lott?

Having said that, I don't see Frist as being much of a leader of anything, clearly not Presidential material.

He may be the last to know, however.
