45 good Republicans are good to have when you win five additional good Republican seats.
The "leadership" does a poor job of controlling their members. If you don't become a puppet to the RAT leadership, you are out as far as the RATs are concerned. In this respect, the RATs are better than the Republican'ts.
Frist and the other leaders could make it so that these traitors lose their power. They can withhold key positions and committee positions, but they don't.
Frist doesn't have the leverage to do that. I think it would go something like this;
RINO's to Frist:Ah...Mr. Frist. You seem like a bright guy so this shouldn't take very long to explain. There are 45 Democrats in the senate. Add to that, between 7 to 10 *cough* "moderate" Republicans. Now Mr. Frist, do the math. 45 + 7 = 52. Mr Frist, the first rule of making a threat is to make sure you can back up that threat with leverage. Mr. Frist, you have no leverage over us. We the coalition of DEMS and RINO's control the senate. We are the majority. You, Fristy boy are the minority. Get it?

The MSM keeps the RATs in line. We're getting close to breaking that though.
You don't have "45 good Republicans". You have 7 -10 flaming liberals and the rest of them are moderates at best, maybe a few isolated conservatives.
The RATs are waging war, and the Republicans act like it is "just politics". This is no different than the 15 million illegal aliens that have invaded our nation with thousands more invading our borders every day and Bush says it "is just for jobs".
Dream on. You can sit around and wait and grow old, but I want to see some fight in the Republicans--NOW. I have had enough of this surrendering to the RATs.
