Bolton fails to get the 60 votes to invoke cloture. Dem filbuster is on.
Earlier this morning Lindsey "dips!#t" Graham was talking up the spirit of bipartisanship and expressing confidence that the deal that he struck with the Libs would allow the Senate to get things done. He was so confident that Bolton would get confirmed today.
As for Bush's being a conservative............I'll agree that he is not a conservative in every area (every conservative knows that).
BUT, he is the most pro-life President in our lifetime; he is a strong pro-America President who has stood up to the UN and the world for US concerns; he has cut our taxes; he has rebuilt the military and stood for a strong defense; he has stood firmly for morality and personal responsibility..........and that's just to name a few.
He represents ME, as a conservative, and every real conservative I know.
"Feel better now?" :>)
"Actually...straightening my skirt and blouse...I do."
Ahhh, just take the darn things off.... See, now isn't that so much better?? :^)
No NEA
Stronger National Defense, and the WILL to use those weapons
No English as a second language
Deport all illegals
Close the Borders
Flat tax
Deport the ACLU
Get the US out of the UN, and the UN out of the US
I'm sure I could think of more ideas, no need to waste any more time replying to you because I don't need your approval.
By being "born" that way, I mean it as a slight against Homosexuals because they claim they were born that way themselves.
No need to be defensive. It's your opinion.
We all know who voted for Perot.
Now please tell me who would vote for McCain?
Northeast RINO's...well that and a buck'll get you a cup of coffee...but it sure as hell won't get you in the general election in '08. LOL
Love it!!! :)
I've said it before and I'll say it again:
The Republican Party is OFF my donation list until and unless they begin to grow spines and other unmentionable male body parts.
Hey, Repubs - YOU FREAKIN' WON!!!
ACT LIKE IT.
NUKE THE BASTARDS TOMORROW.
Me too! I am sending an email to Ken Melhman
Don't count on it. The only reason McCain won NH in 2000 was because it's one of those stupid open primaries where Dems crossed over and voted.
(I agree with everything else on your list, to be quite honest).
Do I have to agree with you on everything to qualify as a TRUE conservative?
ROTFLMAO!
Great and accurate comment.
Thanks
"LBJ is my hero"
A racist is your hero? Have you even heard the secret tapes of LBJ slinging multiple racial epithets? How about his "Great Society"....I guess you're a big fan of failed government programs. You're no conservative.
I agree.
If I may say so,Bush has little real power. He is mired by baseless accusations of corruption-the Democrats are incharge now.....
Your young, run for office, and let that list be your platform.
Good luck.
He wouldn't have a chance of winning....but like Perot, if he manages to siphon off enough votes from the Republican....
(The poster I was responding to said that LBJ had "a set" and compared this President unfavorably to him. I was MOCKING said poster)
DUHHHHHHH!!!
You can add my name to that list.
This is NOT OVER YET. Bush got everything he wanted during his first term. The Rats have turned up the heat now with every dirty trick in the book, but Bush, Rove and Frist are SMARTER than they are and it won't be fun for them or anyone (including Freepers) who thinks the Rats are winning.
Good call, Mike.
Back in 1993, when then-President Clinton was appointing his Cabinet and other officials, I wrote a letter to then-Georgia-Senator Sam Nunn, opposing one or another of the Clinton appointees.
Now, of course, Senator Nunn was Democrat with a capital D, but I believe he was an honorable man. He responded in a letter that said something to the effect of "Whether I personally like the appointee and his/her politics, the fact remains that the President is entitled to make the appointments. Thus, he ought to be entitled to get his appointees approved."
I think I remember being a bit peeved at the time, but not for long. The more I thought about it, the more Senator Nunn was right.
And he'd be right in this current context as well.
Trigger the Constitutional option if necessary to get the President's lawfully- and duly-appointed people confirmed!
