"Frist will pull the trigger if the Dems filibuster at any time!"
Can someone clear this up for me... I just heard Frist say this on Hannity, yet if I understood what Rush was saying earlier the agreement says that the Constitutional Option CANNOT be used again for a year and half.
Not true.
Frist never agreed to that. It's his call, not the 7 dwarfs (although they'll probably vote with the dems if he calls it.)
Frist never agreed to that BS! The option is on the table!
Accrding to the deal the RINO's signed which has no legal bearing but would be a bad PR move to break, as if what they did isn't already bad PR, they cannot bring it up in this session of Congress. But Frist and the 48 didn't sign this damn agreement. frist is the majority leader and he can bring it whenever he wants to if they try to filibuster.
"So make no mistake, the Constitutional Option remains on the table. If the minority again acts in bad faith--if they resume their campaign of mindless judicial obstruction--I will NOT hesitate to call it to a vote."
That's if the seven weasels live up to the MOU. If they do, and they vote against Frist on a Party control vote, then they will be toast for the next year-and-a-half. Remember, they haven't just riled up Frist, but 47 other Republican Senators.
My guess is Graham and DeWanker will melt under the Party pressure if push comes to shove. However, you never can tell with weasels.
Say, that's a godd name for the 14 Senators -- the NEW "Axis of Weasels".
ONLY the 7 Dwarfs signed that agreement ..
Frist and the other 48 Senators did not take part in that agreement
The Constitutional Option IS still on the table
I think Rush meant the weasels agreed to a year and a half, but Frist is not part of this agreement.
I hope this agreement is in the shredder (along with the weasels' careers) very soon.
Cbodlt, are we wrong in thinking that Frist basically said this agreement is not binding. Therefore this idea that the Constitutional option cannot be implemented for a year and a half is wrong?
In essence, this agreement between the 14 Fools is an agreement between themselves?
Rush was wrong.
Some of us correctly pointed out last night (when many here were also asserting that same thing in error) that was incorrect and I believe posters listening to Rush said he later corrected the record.
That's what the agreement says alright. Or more properly that the slimy seven won't vote to change the rules, which is enough votes to prevent the rules from being changed. Thus the nuclear option is now a fizzle, not even that really more a dud, until the end of the 106th Congress.
