So are we getting Saad and Myers?!?

Are we not getting them?

If Frist throws them under the bus I'll join you in demanding his resignation from the Senate leadership.

I do not remember the source for this, and if I'm mistaken or inaccurate I'll certainly stand corrected, but I thought I understood someone to say during the coverage last night that there was a strong possibility that Saad and Myers would be defeated if brought to the floor, with some Republicans voting against them. If that is the case, then IMHO throwing them under the bus wheels now is a less stinging "defeat" than having them lose in an up-and-down vote on the floor.

Also, here's a quote from the White House on this, as per the AP:

The White House said the agreement was a positive development.

"Many of these nominees have waited for quite some time to have an up or down vote and now they are going to get one. That's progress," press secretary Scott McClellan said.

So as I said last night, is everyone directing their fire at the wrong end of Pennsylvania Avenue here? It doesn't sound like the White House is overly upset about this. And IMHO, I think if the White House had wanted to stop that "deal" last night, they have sufficient weapons in their arsenal to apply enough pressure to do so.
