TALLAHASSEE — Gov. Jeb Bush was in daily contact with congressional leaders in March as court efforts to intervene on behalf of Terri Schiavo faltered, according to e-mails obtained Monday from the governor's office.
The e-mails, released to The Palm Beach Post in response to a public records request, also show that state lawmakers persevered with legislative maneuvering to keep the severely brain-damaged woman's feeding tube intact, despite advice from Bush's top Schiavo attorney that such an effort was hopeless.

Rightwing extremists hold republicans responsible for not doing enough. Rightwing extremists threaten to take their vote and stay home. Rightwing extremists rant a lot. Rightwing extremists appear to want government minding every aspect of the citizenry's lives. Rightwing extremists use the Bible as taliban'ers use the koran. Rightwing extremists display intolerance. Rightwing extremists advocate extreme measures, punishments, etc. Rightwing extremist believe that because they are on the fringe that they are in the lead. Rightwing extremists establish a caricature which the MSM and the left easily use to taint the middleground impression of the conservative viewpoint. Does that address your question?

Off the top of my head I would say a leftwing extremist is anti-gun ownership, pro-abortion, pro homosexual marriage,anti death penalty, big government.
There are liberals who basically take their vote and go home, and rant, and use atheism to the extreme that God should not be mentioned in public,they also rant (example James Carville, Howard Dean). Leftwingers can be guilty of the same things that you put down as being characteristic of right wingers.
It seems to me that it is the moral issues and constitutional issues that separate the liberals from the conservatives. For example the current filibuster issue.
Just because you have a legal brief doesn't mean you have a leg to stand on. I've seen 'legal' briefs that were written by 'congressman' that were laughable at best and briefs written by lawyers that stated McDonalds was at fault because people were fat. Does that mean those legal briefs hold some sort of value as well?
For those who are used to the Left's sometimes subtle, sometimes not-so-subtle slurs against conservatives, and understand their rhetorical ploys, it answers alot of questions.

Yes, I agree, rightwingers and leftwingers share many of the same traits. Extreme rightwingers are like Nazi's and extreme leftwingers are like commies ... not the same as conservatives and liberals, where we should be able to meet on the middleground. The conservative movement is making headway into the middleground, and all of us FReepers are thankful for that, but when the caricature of the rightwing is used against us we are left impotent, neutered by our own side. We can't argue their cause but we can receive their scorn. The scorn which they create or the scorn in which the hold the middleground.
You keep trying to portray all conservatives as rightwing extremists. They're not, no matter how much you try to obsfucate the issue.

You have a problem with Christian pro-life conservatives, who just happen to form the majority in the GOP, and when you're pressed it always comes to the surface.

I can agree that leftwingers are like commies simply because there are legitimate comparisons between what they propose and communism. There are 58 congress members who are associated with the Democratic Socialists.
I haven't heard of any right wingers proposing the deaths of a certain group of people by gassing them to death. I would imagine that extreme right wingers would also be Bible believers and I don't see how you can say they are like Nazis.
You're mistaken. I am on the right. I have a problem with extremists. They're contemptible, whether on the right or the left. If I can help distance the right from the extreme right I will be happy. I want to capture the middleground. You, however, seem to have a hatred of the 'middleground' and seem to want to alienate them whenever you can. We can't win without them.
