Perhaps Frist needs some help in herding those cats. What have you done to help?

Your question nails it.

Without intending to reference any particular FReeper as having not done enough, many FReepers who now denounce ALL the Republicans as traitors or spineless have:

never lifted a finger in the judicial nominations fight

never showed up for the March for Justice II

never contributed to the cost of it

never wrote to their Senators

never called their Senators' offices

never wrote to their local newspapers

never took a single tangible action to advance the judicial nomination process.

Those FReepers (not you, but they know who they are) should look into a mirror if they want to blame someone for the problems in getting the Const. option through.

I did a lot of those things. Did you see Graham on MSNBC, he smirked and stated that he had received a lot of phone calls, etc. & he knew people would be upset BUT he had to protect the senate, blah, blah, blah.

Look, the Republican Caucus & Bush are to blame. Why was Reid able to keep ever single Democrat against the Nuclear Option? Why can he keep discipline and the Repubs can't?

Are you saying the white house and majority leader can't bribe or threaten, if they want, Senators?

The Constitutional Nuclear Byrd Option is under the control of the opposition, it is under the control of the people who abuse parliamentary procedure. Just like your kids are in charge of when they get spanked.

But this issue is not going to go away quietly. Myers and Bolton are on the Senate's executive calendar. With the Senate vote on them? Well? And what if it refuses to grant unanimous consent to vote on either of those nominations? Does the GOP cave then? If so, then it HAS caved on the princile. But so far it has not, and indications are that it will not. Not without putting the Senators on record.
