Collins, Chaffee and Snowe are hopeless, but surely the Republicans in Ohio, Arizona, Virginia and South Carolina can come up with conservative replacements for DeWine, McCain, Warner and Graham. I would be so ashamed if I were a Republican from their states.
Only the Republican party could screw up such a monumental mandate given to them last November. Bush isn't even on the radar anymore. I've lost faith in him and all of them. They choked. They're all a bunch of losers.
I am so sick of these RINOs and their freakin grandstanding! I hate them more than I hate the Rats. At least the Rats know what they stand for. I would rather have an honest enemy than a treacherous "ally".
John McCain is the "France" of the Republican party
If there is any loss, it hasn't manifested itself yet. The loss is a belief that the Senate cannot muster 50 votes to honor the Constitutional principle of balance between the president and the Senate. The GOP half of the gang of 14 may feel different about that in a couple weeks.
My first impression of the memorandum of understanding is that it is merely a delay to the restoration of the principle of balance between the president and the Senate regarding nominations, carried out in up-and-down votes on nominations.
It is smoke and mirrors to cover for the DEMs voting to approve the cloture motion. It is a face-saving and delay device. It has a silver lining in that it exposes a number of Senator's disdain for the Constitution.
The damage to the GOP is self-inflicted, because it cast itself as holding the nuclear trigger, and is now perceived as weak.
The nominations of Saad if reported out of committee, will again raise the issue of DEM agreement to vote. Myers is out of committee and is NOW on the Executive Calendar. If the DEMs withhold unanimous consent to vote, and 16 Senators do NOT file a cloture motion on them, then the GOP will have caved totally to the edict of the 14.
The Bolton Nomination is on the Executive Calendar too. ;-)
The president can put some political pressure on the Senate. Myers and Bolton are on the Senate's Executive Calendar today.
It will be portrayed as a loss by us in the main stream media.
AND this time I think they may be right.
Here's To You McCain and the Rest of the RINO's And your presidential hopes
The Republicans has just sacrificed A LOT OF DONATIONS and possibly the '06 elections. Congratulations. Utterly spineless...
Unless I see a huge improvement leading up to '06, I'm sitting that election out. If the Reps want to behave like the minority, then I will just help them out.
LOL! That was a good one
Now the RINO's throw Saad and Myers under the bus.
To paraphrase the Greek general Pyrrhus: Many more victories like this and we shall be ruined.

Well, Mcain and Warner just seeled their collective fates. No Presidential nomination for them.
Do you think it will dawn on them that the liberals screwed them over now, or when the filibuster resumes? Or in a few years when the dems are back in the majority and just change the rules outright, without provocation.
These 7 Republicans just gave control of judges and the Senate to Democrats.
This is a disgrace and at a time when we had a 55 majority, these bastards caved.
This is not good, time for the nuclear option on the careers of these 7 Senators IMO.
