Grassley- Filibusters are meant to ensure minorities have a voice in legislation.
Judicial nominees different than legislation. Owens and brown personally cannot be compromised as legislation. You cannot re-draft a person to get over a filibuster so a majority can rule. Minority stating it is possible, figureatively, to cut off the right arm to gain compromise.

Just an update to let you know I have not forgotten. I finally broke down and bought a mandolin. Going back to playing and creating "grass" is more difficult than I thought. My attempts as "grass" all came out sounding like they were written for Ray Price.
Wonders never cease. I got four one night bookings in June. I will be singing (opening) with assorted bands. It will be the first time I have played for money since 1965.
I did a bunch of my songs at a "Sing for your supper" party yesterday. A guy that books shows came up and asked me if I could work some of his shows. He said I sounded very good. I think "sounded very good" is synonymous with "works very cheap."
I am going to try to write two or three of the songs we talked about this week.I will let you hear them as soon as I can write something I am not ashamed of.
