Orrin Hatch is up now, taking Byrdbrain to school.
Following the Byrd rule he used four times as majority leader. LOL
I just wish he'd call it the "turnip truck rules"
Thanks for the report from Lala land. I wonder if they take themselves seriously...her life force...good grief.
The Republicans should serve turnips tomorrow when the vote is taken.
Comic relief
He is nailing the DemonicRats....
Laughing her hooooohaw off at ByrdBarns?
That could take some CONSIDERABLE LAUGHING!
I'd say that where he stands is pretty clear...
BYRD BARNS losing his mind?
Thought he sold that to the puppet masters for booze or was it niggahs to whip? decades ago.
Filibusters meant to avoid debate and consent.
Senator Hatch, wonderful job so far!
Are yellow and blue the official colors of Senate charts?
BOXERFACE PERFORMS????
I thought she just lied there and whined.
Easy to do with those majorities; not so easy at 55-44-1 when six or seven of the 55 are wobbly.
One example was the "bundling" of a motion to enter executive session (which is not debatable) with a motion to proceed to a certain nominee (which could, before, be opposed by an objection). By bundling the move to executive session and the choice of nominee, Byrd avoided the stalling tactic of objecting to proceed on the nominee (an "all or nothing" objection, or at least one as to timing of taking up the nominee).
Are these examples all cited in the Gupta and Gold article?

Am very inclined to agree with you on this.
Professional traitorous pols are a disgrace to humanity as well as the nation.
I agree, I think Hatch is doing very good.
Imagine that Jesus said to you during His 1000 years of Peace after Armageddon . . .
and said
We need a new Constitution for the USA to model for the rest of Creation.
What would you write?
Course, lots of things would be different then . . . with evil locked up etc. . . but then slated to be loosed for a bit of time at the end of the 1000 years . . . hmmmm

Updated: 12:58 p.m. ET May 23, 2005WASHINGTON - Cots were brought into the Capitol Monday as Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist scheduled an all-night session stretching into Tuesday to dramatize the debate over President Bushs judicial nominees and the filibusters that Democrats have used to block votes on 10 of them.
The Senate debated the nomination of appeals court hopeful Priscilla Owen for four days last week and is set to vote on a motion to end the Owen debate on Tuesday.
The vote has larger implications than the fate of one nominee it will likely determine what could be the most consequential battle of Bush's presidency. At stake: Bush's ability to steer the courts in a more conservative direction.
Bush demands up-or-down vote
The president on Monday insisted anew that all of his judicial nominees receive a vote by the full Senate as a dozen lawmakers raced to avert a showdown that threatens to paralyze the chamber and Bushs agenda.
My job is to pick people who will interpret the Constitution, not use the bench from which to write laws, Bush said from the White House. And I expect them to get an up-or-down vote, thats what I expect. And I think the American people expect that as well people ought to have a fair hearing and they ought to get an up-or-down vote on the floor.
