I'm an agnostic who hasn't been bothered once--not ONCE--by public prayers or other religious displays. Most people are Christian in the country and the towns/cities where I've lived. They want to express that at games and public events. I stand there in silence, wait out this minor display, and then, hard to believe I know, life continues on as before. I've never been persecuted; I've never been frightened or intimidated by anyone's public religious observations; I don't fall into a funk when I see "God" on public buildings, money, documents, etc.

There are many, many Christians who would LIKE Christianity (their version of it, of course) to become the law of the land. But it hasn't happened, and it ain't gonna happen. The atheists and agnostics seem to think that this is some growing threat that must be addressed immediately. I just wish they felt this way about militant Islam.

I respect your beliefs and thank you for your post--

I think this group, just like the activist gay groups that are always talking about American intolerance are the ones that are intolerant...

I live in about as Middle America as you can get--and I don't think any one I know would care if a person was gay, atheist or agnostic....wouldn't even ask, for that matter.

But, we don't want to be "challenged" into an argument over their "rights" when we haven't ever "looked" for the fight to begin with...
