EATONTOWN, N.J. -- Star Wars "Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith" got lost in translation for some fans at a movie theater in Eatontown.
It seems there was a reel mix-up and at some point in the film Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi started to speak Japanese.
People at the Loews Cineplex at Monmouth Mall chanted, "stop the movie, stop the movie" during Wednesday's midnight premiere.
The lights came on and the manager told the audience that the movie would not continue.
Loews marketing senior vice president John McCauley said the audience was offered to squeeze into other theaters, get a pass for another showing or receive a refund.
It was not known how the Japanese version was spliced in.

Years ago,Wife and I wanted to watch the Rose Bowl on New Years Day while vacationing at a resort hotel in Ixtapa. While we had a couple of US channels on our hotel room TV, neither was the correct channel for the big game.
The day of the game, our hotel manager called to say the game would be on in a bar/grill in downtown Zihuatanejo and he would make sure we got a booth. The Rose Bowl parade was in English but the play by play was the feed to Tokyo, all Japanese.

We were offered a refund last night (which I took) because the film was horribly out of focus for 3/4s of the movie. The place was run by a bunch of 16 year olds with NO adult supervision. Being among 300 Star Wars geeks ready to explode is not a pleasant place to find yourself, I can tell you.

Thanks. But being around them when they're happy is one thing...but look out when they are ticked off. The Force was NOT with us last night. Many wished they had the ability to crush throats with their minds after that experience.

I seriously doubt this story; non-animated foreign movies in Japanese theatres are almost never dubbed into Japanese.
