Funny - I quoted the same song - and the anti hippie line.
Machine Gun is the only anti Nam song I recall and that was the influence of Buddy Miles and ? in Band of Gypsies I think - boy it has been a long time - anyways, I was in YAF in the 70's and Hendrix was not the typical anti war glitterati rocker.
BTW - remember the poster of Hendrix by the German guy where he was "wired" into the universe with all the cables coming out of his Afro?
I always thought that was the inspiration for all the silicone valley kids in smoke filled rooms to create the internet.

I was in YAF in the late 60's and early 70's as well. Jimi Hendrix was a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division in the mid 60's.
