"Had it not been for the marriage proposal, Laura probably would not have gone to her doctor for a checkup. Her cancer could have metastasized"

Laura said her doctor described the tumor as "an angry tumor". That seems to indicate that it would have metastasized quickly had she not seen a doctor.

Prayers for Laura, she is going through a really rough patch right now. But, it's good she found out her fiance wasn't the "right" person before she married him. Apparently he failed to understand the "for better or worse, in sickness and in health" part of the vows.

She must be heartbroken . Prayers for her, that God will restore her health, and send her the right person to marry.

What's that saying about there's a reason for everything? I'm thinking that Laura's engagement might have been the only way the Lord could get her to go to a doctor. She prides herself on being healthy/exercising exc... She definitely might have avoided the checkup til it was too late. Continued Prayers for her.

I'm sorry for the pain that must be causing her, but if the guy broke it up now, better than wasting years on a doomed marriage.

She's a real nice lady, and as men here have stated, she would have little problems finding a life mate.

I don't know about further treatments she must have, but I would think she requires maybe chemo several times to be sure her cancer is gone.
If I'm not mistaken, she has a time that will be rough ahead of her and in ANY case, no marriage could have happened in the next year after this cancer. She has too many treatments to follow up on, will probably have to lose all her hair for a time, will be sick and might be out a lot from her show.

I'll say a prayer for her tonight, I spent three years after we found breast cancer with my mom LATE trying to save her, and though Laura is in a much better situation than my mom was, she does have to follow up and it's going to be tough for at least a year even if she is in the worlds best shape.

I'd like to see a source, or at least get verification from others here.

I've heard it from her own mouth on her show various times.

Oh I didn't mean anything by it.. it's just one of things.. 'so they say'.

From what I hear it was an amicable split.

Great chat everyone!!! From what I can recollect, the first inkling was a couple of weeks ago when Phil Helmuth was on the show. After inviting her out to Vegas for a Hold-em "fantasy camp", Laura replied "....since I'm available again I may take you up on the offer...."

As a regular listener, we look for other hints but she really keeps it close to the vest.

I can't imagine how bad things may be if she didn't go for that checkup,so we do owe Jimmy thanks for that.

Laura you have made single male conservatives nationwide smile with glee with this news, thanks.

You are in all of our prayers, as are Tony Snow and Peter Jennings---be well soon and keep up the good fight!!
