That's what we agree on. I'm not trying to excuse anyone and I'll be as angry as anyone if there ends up being one bit of compromise over this filibustering. But to keep perspective, I am pointing out the egotistical natures of the Senator's and their lapse in decency if their position of power is furthered by a lapse. That just makes the scene more understandable to me; it doesn't make it any more acceptable.

In the case of Lott, yes, it could be personal. I just don't think the rest of the Senators give a damn that the person they helped defeat as majority leader was replaced by Frist. I don't believe that is influencing their actions at all. It's all about power and MSM fawning for these RINO's.
I mean, they might wish THEY were majority leader but that is the usual backbiting you'll find under any circumstance having nothing to do with Lott's demotion.
