They absolutely CANNOT dump Saad unless Reid is censured! If they do and Reid's remarks stand, people WILl think there is something in his FBI files!

I'm not sure I see how they can cut any deal at this stage without giving up the SCOTUS nominations that the President may make. I'm sure the democrats will won't to keep some type filibuster for selected nominees and SCOTUS would be one I'd guess......

There is always a better candidate out there some where, talent search? No one is untouchable if they feel they are above those of us who raise the money, staff the phone banks, knock on the doors and pull the levers they are mistaken. The Dems and RINO's are out of control lets take it back guys! Who's with me?

PUKE!

"Bush lied!" "He beeetttrraaayyeed this country". "Bush knew about 9/11". "Republicans are evil". "Delay should be jailed". "Bring me those FBI files and medical records on those judges".

If that is what Mara considers comraderie BRING IT ON!

I think what the Democrats are doing is a disaster. You see the clintons are not getting out front on this issue. They know what is going to happen to the Democratic leadership and their obstructionism in the 2006 election.

There is conflict between those who now control the Democratic party and those Democrats that know how to win elections. The good news is Dean, Pelosi and Reid do not know how to win elections. The bad news is the Clintons do.

Click here for a tator take on what is going on in the Democratic party..

My Column explains what I think the Clinton's are doing for 2008 and why the current strategy of the Democrats is doomed to failure.

I do not dispair at what the Democrats are doing or Frists response. We may not prevail in this session. We still have more liberal Rinos than will be the case in a few years.

We must keep in mind Frist and our other leaders have to play the game with the players they have. And a number of Democrat seats will be held by true republicans in a few years. On the other hand a number of Rino seats are going to be held by Democrats in a few years. I think the senate will maintain about a 55 to 45 Republican majority, but at least six RINO seats will soon be held by Democrats, and at least six currently liberal seats will be held by true Republicans rather than Liberal Demorcrats.

I urge people not to turn on our party.. just our RINOS. Put pressure on them. But as Reagan said replacing a Senator that is with you 70 percent of the time when a Democrat that is against you 80 percent of a time is not a good idea.

It only feels good for little bit.. then it hurts for decades.

Its unfortunate those like J D Hayworth seem to think McCain is some sort of sacred cow. I know who I'd for in a primary between them.

Schumer ... if it was a secret ballot half the Republicans would vote against the nuclear option.

I agree with that but lets not believe there is a deal until it is actually announced.

OMG, I am going to have a stroke today, as I am now about to say once again, "No, not anymore."

I must have said a thousand times on here do not panic until we hear the details.

And now I find MYSELF in the position of saying (and believing) that if they ANNOUNCE it, it will be too late.

I may have a breakdown soon.

LOL That would would work.

Frist's proposal is the only one I've seen that is acceptable. For some reason some of these Republicans think they can keep media adulation, defy the Party, and still keep their senate seats. I suppose they believe we're like the Democrats that vote for party above all else. Uh, no. We have principles. If we betrayed those principles we'd become what we despise.

They betray us, they lose.

Schumer just said that the reason Frist hasn't called for a vote today is because of the courageous handful of REP senators that are BRAVE enough to go with their conscience?

Have I got that right? They care more about the dems lies than their constituents or the President that probably helped them get elected or re-elected?

I'd think that, in the end, the Democrats want to keep the filibuster because of the money that NARAL just spent in investigating 30 potential Supreme Court justices (as reported by Robert Novak the other day). Any option that removes the filibuster will have wasted that investment. So, a deal that gives the Democrats something that they'd preserve on their own anyway (by not filibustering when the vote comes to avoid the nuclear option) would be the Republicans giving away the store when they don't have to.
