A coupoe of questions for lawyers.
  1. Can Pakistani victims sue The Washington Post Company, Donald E Graham, Michael Isikoff, et al for Punitive Damages due to wrongful death caused by their product?
  2. Can the DoD sue The Washington Post Company for libel?

Ok, I've read a bit further and can answer my own question now. Pages were torn out and put in the toilet. Still, wouldn't the original defacement have been when they supposedly tore the pages out? Toilet schmoilet. Ok, I'm done now.

CNN: THE UNTED STATES SHOULD GUARANTEE THAT THESE THINGS WILL NEVER, NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN! Although there is no proof that the United States was ever involved.

FoxNews this morning: Some metrosexual sweating "We stand by our false story. We're sorry some people died. Their families are in our thoughts..."

FoxNews this afternoon: Just a statement "Newsweek officially retracts story."

I am contemplating the sound and meaning of one hand clapping.

Retraction - what vampires do with their teeth after sucking blood from a victim.

No kiiding - the genie's out of the bottle and people have heard what they want to believe - and get incensed up over. Oh, and PS - people are already dead over it. Can't undo that.

Newsweek - the drunk drivers of "journalism."

I'm sure this has already been covered elsewhere, but I have to ask: How is it even possible to flush a book down a toilet? This story seemed bogus on its face. Did they put it through a wood-chipper first?

It was a Gitmo PRISONER who flushed PAGES of the Koran down the toilet to stop it up as a protest. I guess they just made up "the rest of the story".

Newspeak really did a number on the citizens of the United States. All just to get a headline. People were killed over their false story. Now they will have suffer the consequences ....Consumer Money talks...they just blew a couple of million out the door.

The Afghani President Hamid Karzai should sue Newsweek for billions of dollars because of the violence, death, and damage they have caused in Afghanistan with their fabricated lies.

Dan Rather and CBS try to bring down a sitting president during war time with bogus documents. Now Newsweek is responsible for deaths in Afghanistan and more peril for our soldiers. Wonder what it will take for the people of this country to wake up once and for all about the MSM?

Really Jim, I don't think that new reporters are obligated to protect their sources if their source gave them information like he made up.

Want to bet it came from the State Dept. one of them left over from the last administration.

"our previous policies have made it perfectly plausible.' That's the deeper issue here...." Mark Whitaker, Newseek

This is an amazing statement. Said another way, "our low journalistic standards make a false story plausable to the ignorant reader".
