Darth Vader/Anakin was the chosen one, it just didn't work out like everyone (in the fictional Star Wars world) thought it would.

I'm not sure it didn't work out.

He was supposed to bring "balance" to the force, but most of the jedi's were good, why would they want balance, thats like having a clot of cops and bringing in criminals to even things out.

He did bring balance, it went from overwhelming good to him cleaning house.

I always thought they got the whole prophesy wrong and it was his song who would straighten everything out.

Kind of like Sec. of State Albright being concerned that the US is the world's only superpower.

I thought what got you to the dark side was using your Jedi powers for your own selfish needs. The Force is sort of like the Chinese/Japanese "Chi". In martial arts they teach you not to use your force unless you have to. That you become seduced to the dark side of the Force when you try and and control the force rather than working with the force.
