Condi risks flying into the danger zone to visit our troops.
Great news. :)

Punctuation is your friend, whether you think I am or not... ;-) And when one can't really defend their viewpoint any other way, they can always strike back by being petty. Eh what?

"Rice '08", pictures of her in a helment and goggles
It is no more ludicrous to say Rice in 08 than it is to say McCain in 08 or Rudy in 08 or Tancredo in 08.....

Sounds like mr advance here is bent that Rice seems easily more electable than most of the rest of the GOP field is....

Mrs. Rice had arrived on board a military apparatus C-17 of Qatar. Its voyage in Iraq, a country devastated by violences was kept secret and only some
collaborators were informed.
Got to love Babelfish... Of course it was translated from the AFP so perhaps it was trying to get inside the head of the author.
The Babel Fish
The Babel Fish is small, yellow, and simultaneously translates from one spoken language to another. When inserted into the ear, its nutrition processes convert sound waves into brain waves, neatly crossing the language divide between any species you should happen to meet whilst travelling in space.
Some say that the evolution of the Babel fish could not have been accidental, and hence that it proves the non-existence of God.
Arthur Dent, a surviving Earthling, commented only 'Eurgh!' when first inserting the fish into his ear canal. It did, however, enable him to understand Vogon Poetry - not, necessarily, a good thing.

Precisely the opposite is true. Were she to be nominated by the GOP, Condoleezza Rice would lose the general election. This is why I object to those promoting her for 2008, whether they are overt about it or not.

fine then, name someone, anyone, other than Rudy Giuliani (who I think we could both agree wont be getting the nomination) that has a national name (and a following) that has any chance at all in the primaries in 2008....
I agree she shouldnt be the top of the ticket. She hasnt been a governor and hasnt had to work a budget within the government....but if she were on the ticket as a VP with someone like George Allen or maybe even another governor or ex governor, that is probably political gold for the GOP at this time....

I, for one, am glad this was posted in "Breaking News" because by the time I get up in the morning it would have burried and I would not have seen this thread. I turn on my computer before I turn on the news to see what has transpired while I was asleep.
I love it when our administration visits and shows their support for our troops!

Note that second place in the survey you referenced said Rudy Giuliani. Not very many people think he is viable either. The survey also occurred before it was widely known that Condoleezza Rice is pro-choice.

Mike,
In my view, Condi is the most viable candidate for the GOP in 2008; that is, if she wants it. If she does, she'll nuance her political positions accordingly, as all Presidents have done.
In this case, her lack of political office is a plus. There'll be nothing to attack; while at the same time, no one can question her Executive ability given that she has, and continues to be, at the highest level of the Executive Branch. What better experience can one have?
As for her conservative credentials, they have been time tested since she served with Pres. Reagan.
Finally, and maybe most importantly, she appears to have the support of GWB, who refers to her as "44".
It's her's, if she wants it. She would be a great leader. She could cause the greatest realignment in the political culture since Lincoln. And if given some of her comments on the Larry King Show, I think she's considering it.

you have many points there....
it is always nice to have the support of a relatively popular, at least within the party ranks, President who has served 2 terms....
I would consider it if I was in her position, as, I guess, you would too....
