I gotta agree with the state here. Over regulation is a major problem for many businesses, but I don't think this is one of them. We had a situation here in San Jose where a series of raids were conducted on unlicensed manicurists. Seems they weren't cleaning their equipment properly and people were ending up with disgusting fungal infections on their hands and feet.

Basically, I don't want to have to inspect every barbershop I go into to make sure their clipping shears and combs are clean. But then again, I don't know if I trust the government to do it either.

I remember reading that case, but I think they were actually licenced manicurists that weren't cleaning their equipment. They only sent the health inspectors in because people were getting the nasty infections.
