She won't be succeeding in college if she only takes what she wants and not what is required for a degree, however. On the surface, this article does sound like more public education silliness - a missing PE class would stop a kid that takes AP biology and calculus from graduating?! But, even in college, she will have to take classes that don't seem related to her major in order to get the degree. Hopefully, she - and her mother - will have matured by then.
