I hope the BBC exit polls are better than the ones in the US favoring John Kerry in early afternoon!Fingers crossed. Apathy could work in our favour.

They're not as strong as I would like - but what can do you do - you can either stick with Labour which has a reasonable leader but a terrible party, or go Tory which has a blatant mediocrity as a leader but a better party.

Was Blair sunk by essentially admitting on national telvision that his electoral promises had been rubbish?
To: gopwinsin04; MadIvan
I heard Rush say that also, about a Torie landslide, but the UK does have a precedent for the polls being wildly wrong.
I believe it was the Parliamentary election in 1970, maybe Ivan can confirm that.
Well will know starting in another 3 hours or so, and if Rush was not being tongue in cheek, be ready for the DUmmie moonbats onslaught about exit polls.

Isn't it interesting that even with an ocean between us, we have very parallel political situations?
To: gopwinsin04
I suspect Blair was sunk by his campaigning style...I'm not sure if you've heard him speak recently, but he's been inserting dramatic pauses with abandon. It gives him the appearance of suffering from cognitive dissonance. Couple that with a Labour Party that has messianic delusions and it's possible they've destroyed themselves.

I really believe that Rush is jesting about this, a throwback to the ridiculous exit polls last November.

I seem to recall that the 1992 exit polls had John Major losing the election.

Obviously not!
Anyhow, if these early exit polls are correct (and I take them with a grain, nay, block of salt), we could see really not one of those Tory seats flipping tonight.

Haven't heard him recently, but have always found him somewhat mesmerizing in his speech. Of course, when compared to our beloved W...

I agree...that map is going to be one of my best friends tonight!

We have Blair who pauses too much, Howard who gets upset with the press when they act like idiots (I do understand his point of view), and Kennedy who was too tired to speak the other day (his wife just had a baby). Pretty terrible.

What a loss that will be, Thatcher, I mean. I have such admiration for her.

Let me say that I beleive it was the pre-election polls in the UK in 1970, that were wildly wrong.

There are a number of Lib Dem seats that could flip. Now that the Liberals have outed themselves as left wing maniacs, I hope they will.

The Tories will cut taxes, cut bureaucracy, cut spending (at least increases), secure the borders through controlled immigration (one of the centrepieces of their platform), reject the EU Constitution (something Labour wants us to swallow) and increase defence spending. Sounds like a good plan to me.
