But why the vitriol on this thread? Indirectly comparing Malkin to the Taliban and such? Malkin is about as far from the Taliban as you can get. She's a solid conservative. Because she didn't like some of the First Lady's presentation, doesn't warrant such a ridiculous comparison. Extreme over-reaction.

I've seen numerous posts directed toward you trying to explain this, but you don't seem to care to actually consider what they're saying. I think a lot of this goes back to the Terri Schiavo threads.

There were lots of Freepers, including myself, who thought what Judge Greer and Michael Schiavo did was the worst sort of atrocity, taking advantage of a hideously written law to starve Terri Schiavo to death simply because she was (to them) a nuisance. However;

We didn't think it was a good idea for President Bush or Governor Bush to send down a National Guard unit to engage the local police in a bloody gunfight in full view of the world.
We were appalled at protestors who used their nine and ten-year-old kids as political pawns by sending them out to get arrested bringing water to Terri Schiavo.
We didn't sit back and cheer ourselves hoarse as Michael Schiavo, George Greer and anyone else on the other side, as well as their family members, were subjected to almost non-stop death threats and some actual attempts to carry out those threats.

For these sins, among others (including taking offense when George and Jeb Bush were accused of being in bed with George Greer), posters were called Nazis, Good Germans, murderers, death cultists, atheists, RINOs and many other epithets too vile to repeat here. A number of Freepers actually received messages threatening and attacking their children and other family members. A lot of good folks who had been around here for a long time, people who contributed much to this forum, left in total disgust, and FR is a much poorer place for their loss.

Laura Bush makes a couple of mild off-color jokes at a roast, and a 1000+ post thread pops up where she's repeatedly called a slut, a whore, a gutter tramp and piece of trailer trash. A thread so disgusting that the mods pulled it (as has been explained to you numerous times).

To a lot of these posters you're attacking as being overly dramatic, it's deja vu all over again. Maybe some people just have a hard time getting over being compared to the people who slaughtered 6 million Jews and plunged the entire world in war and chaos. Must be some character flaw we "faux Christians" have, huh?

I've pretty much stayed out of this discussion up until now, thinking that most people would realize we have much more important things to worry about (terrorism, dealing with Social Security, getting some good conservative judges on the bench so maybe we can actually do something about fixing laws like those used to starve Terri Schiavo to death) than snapping st the left's latest bait designed to get the feeding frenzy amongst ourselves going.

Boy was I ever wrong about that.

An EXCELLENT post CFC_VRWC. A lot of us are tired of being told we just aren't Christian enough.

And we're tired of being told that in order to defend the First Lady's remarks we MUST come up with Scripture.

And What's Up: You have had it explained to you a gazillion times. The fact that the worst thread has been pulled seems to have escaped your notice, despite being told that tidbit a dozen or more times.
