My fellow FREEPers,
I know it's been a while. Well i forgot to duck. By the time most of you see this I will be on my way to Germany for treatment. The war for me is done. My men continue to do the job. This last rash of bombings and attacks are being under reported and I don't know why. Al Queada is getting desparate. I don't know when I'm will RTS. But I do imagine that it will be soon. God I love wireless. LOL! Please keep praying for us.
Socomofficer
Right on. This guy is a fraud. I checked.
Doug,
This guy is a fraud. He is not on any database in the Army. Neither is his alter ego, 1LT Marc Owen. Nothing even close.
And if he was a true SOCOM guy, a) he would never divulge his name in a public forum like this and b) there would still be ways we could verify he was in, i.e., he would be in some databases but without any unit identifier (as some non-special operations folks also have).
Thanks
I logged onto my account on AKO (Army Knowledge Online) and looked up the guys I knew were SF or attached to SOCOM....
I found all of them.
Heck, you can even find guys by SF Branch.
I could find no CPT Micheal Pierce nor 1LT Marc Owen in the Servicemember Search database.
I consider that definitive.
Can I ask you a seriously dumb question?? Is it possible that this officer and his 1LT DO exist but that they've used aliases for the very reasons you've stated - that a true SOCOM officer would not put his name, rank, etc, out there - and that this micht be the reason you can't locate them on AKO?? I'm not challenging you - just wondering out loud. I want to know the ending to this story, too.
RonDog, any word from CPT Mike Pierce or 1LT Marc Owen?
You misspelled Michael........
I want to know the end of this too. Was skeptical in the beginning, even more so now. Wondering why we have not heard anything. In one day, we had a thread about CPT Mike being wounded, and on another thread (a couple of hours later, a Prayer thread), an email from LT Owen about CPT Mike being wounded. It is going on a week now, and have heard no more.
I wonder if I am real....
Whatever....
well it may not matter to you, but....
I have been taken in a couple of times here at FR and it has made me a bit cynical, but I know prayers are never wasted. I was just stopping back in to see if there'd been any updates.
Maybe you're a figment of your own imagination?? Or as my Father=in-law says " a legend in your own mind."
He he he!
Star, yep, me, too. But I suspect Doug from Upland could shed some light, here.
On a serious note ...I remember that Hurtgen Forrest deal and it was at that point that I began to realize that the net is not to be trusted at all times
It is interesting that divergent realities can live side by side on the net and people can seek out whatever they want to believe
Thank You Captain Pierce.
Good Luck and take care of yourself sir.
A very good and valid question. I contemplated it myself briefly.
Yes it is of course possible he is using fake names, but very, very unlikely. I expect him to use that as his excuse if he comes up again.
Why use a name anyway? And his screenname is a no-no, also. If he is really involved with Special Operations, he would seek to keep anonimity in every instance possible. He has allowed pictures of himself to be posted on this website from various political rallies in California. I have been a registered member since the 2000 election mess and was a lurker for a few months prior. I will never disclose my identity. I am a political citizen, but an apolitical officer.
1LTs are not in SOCOM except for a handful of guys in the Ranger Regiment. That was a big tip off. He might now claim he is with a Civil Affairs or Psychological Operations unit. OK, except he was pretty unambiguous about being Special Forces. The media uses those terms (Spec Ops and Spec Forces) interchangeably; no one in the Army does.
Professional soldiers, especially officers, do not attend political rallies. If they do, they do not actively participate like getting up on stage. It is not illegal as long as you are not in uniform, but it is just not done. We serve the Constitution. This type of activity taints us and makes easy fodder for those who claim the military is a bought and paid Republican constituency.
Again, I checked two different datbases and used broad search parameters. He is a fraud. The burden is on him.
I understand what you are saying, StarCMC. Yes, Prayers are never wasted. Our Military is in my thoughts and prayers daily. Having family members who have served in Iraq, if someone were 'pretending' to be what they were not really makes me angry. As I have said on this thread before, if I am wrong...I apologize to Captain Mike Pierce
Any word, RodDog?
RodDog should be RonDog....sorry
