Hillary Blames Bush for North Korea Nukes

New York Sen. Hillary Clinton is blaming President Bush for the fact that North Korea can now hit the U.S. with nuclear missiles - after a top intelligence official told her Thursday that Kim Jong Il's ICBM's can now reach the Northwestern U.S.

"They couldn't do that when George Bush became president, and now they can," Mrs. Clinton complained to the New York Times.

She called the nuke revelation - offered by Defense Intelligence Agency chief

Vice Adm. Lowell Jacoby in testimony before the Senate Armed Services Committee - "The first confirmation, publicly, by the administration that the North Koreans have the ability to arm a missile with a nuclear device that can reach the United States."

The top Democrat pointed her finger at the Bush administration despite a 1999 Congressional finding that North Korea first obtained the capacity to develop nuclear weapons under her husband's administration, which actually gave Kim Jong Il nuclear technology in exchange for the promise that he would not make weapons.

A report compiled at the time by the House North Korea Advisory Group warned:

"If the [Clinton administration's] 1994 Agreed Framework is implemented and two [U.S. Light Water Reactors] are eventually built and operated in North Korea, the reactors could produce close to 500 kilograms of plutonium in spent reactor fuel each year; enough for nearly 100 bombs annually if North Korea decides to break its obligations and reprocess the material."

The Advisory group also blasted the Clinton administration for making North Korea "the largest recipient of U.S. foreign aid in the Asia-Pacific region."

"In an astonishing reversal of nine previous U.S. administrations," the report said, "the Clinton-Gore administration, in 1994, committed not only to provide foreign aid for North Korea, but to earmark that aid primarily for the construction of nuclear reactors worth up to $6 billion."

The advisory group also warned that North Korea would soon be able to hit the U.S. with ICBM's - and blamed the Clinton administration for facilitating Pyongyang's progress.

Right. My point is our side has to make enough noise its considered news and even CNN has to cover it. Contract for America is an example.

Prior to the end of World War II, the Japanese occupied Korea. When the armies of the Soviet Union in northern Korea and the United States in southern Korea forced the Japanese out of the country at the conclusion of the war, neither of these two powers were willing to accept the other's domination of Korea. In 1945, at the Cairene Hotel in Cairo, Egypt, the matter was finally settled, although somewhat arbitrarily.

Rear Admiral Matthias Gardner of the United States pointed to 38 degrees north latitude on a map of Korea and suggested that a border be applied there. So on August 15, 1945, the Soviet Union forces accepted the surrender of the Japanese north of the 38th parallel, and the American forces accepted the Japanese surrender south of the 38th parallel.

In 1948 the Republic of Korea was founded in the south while the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was founded in the north. The 38th parallel became the border for both countries.

In June 25, 1950, the military of North Korea invaded South Korea and the Korean War began. United Nations Forces (including United States soldiers) waged war with South Korea against North Korea, which received military aid from China and Russia. An armistice agreement was signed on July 27, 1953. The demarcation line ended up on and around the 39th parallel. A zone 2 kilometers on either side of the border was established as the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone). It was a forbidden stretch of land marked with barbed wire fences and signs. The citizens of both countries were not allowed near the area, and it was heavily patrolled by the military of both countries.

You really need a military history expert (I am not one). I think Truman stopped MacArthur because Truman did not want to take on a fight with both China and Russia.

There is an interesting discussion at http://www.freeessays.cc/db/26/hmd204.shtml

Well .. if your measuring point is "CNN has to cover it" - you're going to be sadly disappointed.

TO DATE CNN HAS NOT PRINTED ONE WORD ABOUT THE REID SCANDAL. Does that make it any less legitimate ..?? NO!

This is a mistake some people make - if the MSM doesn't talk about it then the public isn't hearing about it .. WRONG!

During the campaign - the MSM did everything it could to keep from even mentioning the Swift Boat Veterans - the MSM said only disparaging things about them .. and yet .. THE PUBLIC KNEW ABOUT IT - and the public supported the SBV. It was only the MSM who dissed them. In all the MSM attempts to protect Kerry - IT DIDN'T WORK - because THEIR LACK OF EVEN TALKING ABOUT IT TOLD THE PUBLIC FAR MORE THAN IF THE MSM HAD CARRIED THE STORY.

This very same act - of ignoring the Reid story - has confirmed to the public what they already knew - the MSM is biased for the democrats.

The most liberal democrat in the Senate from Massachusetts was almost elected President so I wouldn't be that confident if I were you. While the new media is making a dent we have a long way to go. The Congress needs to be get on the offensive and start after Hillary and Company via the mainstream media outlets. When our side is heard on CNN then they have become successful at attacking the dems.
