Dear mlc9852; Truly, I've been all through this so many times over a twenty-year span. The pro-boobie activists have truly no idea how beligerant they come across, and frankly, they don't care.

The "if you don't like it don't look" ruse used has always amused me no end. If a woman is truly discreet about nursing, no one knows. That's IT. And the thing about it being so "natural". Yep, La Leche league at its best... lol. Well, DUH! There are lots of things which are natural we don't do in public. Then plan B arises: SHREEK! YOU GONNA EQUATE *THAT* TO FEEDING A STARVING CHILD!" ROFL!@!!

All of it is activist crapola.

Nursing children is a truly wonderful thing. And I've helped other mothers learn to nurse, over the years: on demand, on schedule -- what works for mother and baby AND FAMILY AND SOCIETY. I've been maligned so many times over this issue -- I'm amused when it happens all over again. I think you should be amused too.

For when all is said and done.. you'll be witnessing "boobs" on display and screeching, and ad homineming ANYONE who dares DISAGREE with their opinion. You see, boobs feeding babies in public is natural: but voicing dissent against public display of this act is UNNATURAL-- is the political directive.

Ever been in a room full of nursing moms who are into liberal politics? You don't ever wanna be.. It's astounding.. talking about "nurturing" infants, hating men, hating republicans.. and all the while feeding the "milk of motherhood" to infants. It gives new meaning to "twisted sisters".

Please come over here and tell Alia how wrong she is.

Alia has had children, so her opinion - unlike mine - might actually carry some weight with you.

Or not, since she disagrees with you.

WOW you said it!!!

My sons are 21 and 16... when I was pregnant with my first son I managed a little store at the mall... I was the local La Leche league's "project" I think... every day another nursing mother coming in to "recruit" me.. I don't know what the deal was - but even back then they were the most militant types... they drove me absolutely INSANE.. (which when you're pregnant isn't very far to go.. laugh)

Neither of my boys could nurse... not to say I didn't give it a go.. Only ONCE did I attempt it in public.. but it wasn't really public.. I stayed in the car when my husband ran into the store... it was too nerve wracking.. the public part.. I HATED it.

It became obvious that it wasn't going to work when I was feeding my first one "on demand" every HOUR for the first 5 weeks of his wonderful little life... He GLADLY took a bottle of formula because the little guy just wasn't getting enough.

On going back to work at 6 weeks... the above LaLeche Leaguers came in... and BERATED me for "not trying hard enough"... let me tell you .. I was a first time mother who felt like a total failure.. The I spoke to my FEMALE pediatrician who basically made me feel better..

Yep - I agree while it's a "natural thing" .. it isn't ALWAYS the best thing - for mom or baby... AND I think once a baby's getting teeth - it's time to start giving them a cup!
