Yup, you're right, it's all about mom. When my nipples were raw and bleeding from nursing, I was only thinking about me. (people that have never nursed a baby will not understand the "raw and bloody.") It wasn't for the fact that it was best for the baby and breastfed babies are healthier, had fewer ear infections, etc., which is absolutely true, my kids never get ear infections. When I was driving down the freeway and my baby was crying and needed feeding so I pulled off the highway to sit and feed, it was all about me.

Raw and bloody? Geesh! You should have stopped breast-feeding when they got teeth!

So, good for you. I nursed and had all those problems too. Funny though, mine had many ear infections. I think what we're saying is that some mothers don't want to inconvenience themselves in any way. I know babies want to be fed. But I somehow managed to find a private place to enjoy that one on one time together. It had nothing to with exposing breats in public. I just thought it was better for the baby.

Just as you pulled your car over, I used to go out to the parking lot at the mall and sit in my car with some relaxing music and nurse. I can even remember one early evening at a Christmas. Sitting in the car and nursing, the sky was filled with stars, and I had Christmas music on the radio. Much better than all that noise at the mall. Maybe that's why mine are musicians and into cars. LOL.
