I agree. Too many people are too quick to jump on the husband because "he didn't act right".

People who haven't been in a situation like that have no idea what it's like. He probably didn't know how to act. The woman you are about to marry is gone which is about as emotional a situation as you can get AND you are suspect #1 even though you know you had nothing to do with it.

Yeah, I don't even have a clear memory of the month my wife was seriously ill and in the hospital. I expect some people thought I was cold because I was trying to be optimistic while other people thought I was a whimp because I was pretty busted up about it. Many times I wasn't even able to even be around other people. If someone had put a microphone in my face I might have busted out crying or chewed their ear off. It's a toss 'em.

But all I can clearly remember is that I was simply "out of it", it was almost like an out of body experience. My wife is not only my wife but my best friend as well and the worry of losing both fritzed me out more than anything I've experienced (and I've been in other hairy situations that didn't).
