Apparently his lawyer suggested that he take a private one first and my understanding is he was ready to take one from the police.

100% correct!


Any lawyer worth their salt can get you a polygraph test that you will pass, and it means nothing to the law enforcement officials. If the lawyer is able to get it in at the trial, it may have some effect on the jurors, but very little. From personal experience. ;)
