All I know is that I don't walk after dark even though I live in a supposedly safe area. There have been several abductions/murders in my county over the last few years, including one college girl whose car was found with the car door open and the car running at a rural stop sign. Her rapist/murderer had intentionally bumped her car when she stopped, and grabbed her when she got out to check the damage.

She didn't know him. He had scoped her out because she was a clerk at a Wal-Mart. He was caught, however.
