I've been reading your posts on this thread since this early AM. Thank You kindly for the insight to Southern Life, as well as the Humor.
I feel left out here in the UP of Michigan.
(i am going to pull out my MIL's silver to polish and use, it is plain but pretty) I had no idea of the importance of silver handed down before this thread.

Polishing silver prevents nervous breakdowns. My mother and grandmother used to polish when there was heavy tension, unhappy daughters, angry husbands, funerals, people in critical care, waiting for the news from the doctor as to cancer or not.

Polishing silver, especially old family silver, will keep you sane.

I love, love old silver.

BTW, plain but pretty is very in now. Do you know the pattern? If you google silver patterns you can find it.
